Fundamental Beliefs
The Constitution
I believe in following the Constitution of the United States of America and all of its lawful amendments. I will support efforts to establish, maintain and defend the Constitution of the United States of America..
The Truth
I believe that there is only one truth, based upon facts and true data and that everyone is allowed to have their own interpretation of the truth and their own opinions as to what to do with the truth. There is but one truth but there may be many opinions on what to do with that one truth, but the opinions shall not change that truth. I will support efforts to establish and maintain measures to obtain and share the data supporting the truth.
The Rule of Law
I believe in the rule of law. I will follow the laws. If there is a law that I do not believe in, I will follow that law until it is lawfully modified or eliminated.
The Golden Rule
I believe in the golden rule of doing unto others as they would do unto you. If you don't want it done to you then don't do it to others.
Majority Rule
I believe in majority rule. The will of the majority of people shall rule as long as it follows the other fundamental beliefs.
The Purpose of Common Ground For Us
Find The Foundation of Our Working and Living Together
Recently we find ourselves focusing on the things that make us different rather than focusing on the things that are common between us.
As our views become more extreme and our information comes from unreliable sources, we tend to hunker down in our differences and argue amongst ourselves without the fundamental beliefs that bind us all as human beings.
Common Ground For Us is reminding us of the fundamental basics of those things that we all want and need to go forward and allow the system of this great country of ours to work as they were intended. Intended to work for the majority of our people with lawful ways to evoke change as needed and to protect those that cannot protect themselves. Where the thoughts and desires of a single individual are counted by their single vote and the effort that they take to inform others of the facts and basis of their opinions rather than by the influence of money.
We are hoping that a simple reminder of the basics of humanity and the wonderful rules that are in place to keep us all safe and to keep representation of our wishes through the democratic process will help nudge us all back to common ground.
This site is dedicated to the fundamental beliefs and values that have made our country great and that are needed to be brought to the forefront again.

Story about teaching our youth to find the truth
Teaching youth to find the truth in a sea of misinformation
It is often difficult to determine what is "the truth" and what is "fake news"! With so many sources of information and so many different factions trying to sway our understanding of what is really happening, it is difficult to determine what is real and what is fake.
There was a CBS Sunday Morning story about how people in Finland are teaching their youth to determine what is factual and what is fake news. There are many fundamental points that are shown in this story for determining the truth and how the truth is the foundation of how to live our lives.
This link is offered to increase the public's understanding of how one country that has dealt with "fake news" for many years is supporting people's quest for the truth in this flood of digital falsehoods.
